Roughly speaking, the exercises are sung like this: we start from the bottom and repeat the same thing (the same chorus) higher and higher, and then again we go down. In addition, the content of each subsequent batch requires a higher performance technique.
And in order to achieve efficiency, performing exercises preparing for singing, it is necessary to take into account some factors contributing to success, among which: proper breathing; the corresponding formulation of the singing apparatus, that is, those organs that are involved in sound extraction; a certain direction of the sound stream; strict adherence to the recommendations for each individual exercise.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RIGHT BREATHING One of the recommendations regarding how to chant properly refers to the breathing regimen, which is carried out only by the stomach. In this case, it is important to ensure that the shoulders and chest do not move, and there is no tension in the muscles of the neck. You should breathe very calmly, relaxed, almost not noticeable to others, and extract vowels without thinking, getting rid of the sound as quickly as possible and not holding anything in yourself.
FIRST SINGING: SIDE WITH A CLOSED MOUTH In the first exercise, the author of a video lesson advises to sing with a closed mouth using the sound “hmm …”, increasing it by half a ton with each subsequent extraction, it is important that the teeth are unclenched and the sound itself headed to his lips. Having sung, therefore, a few notes, you can continue the exercise with your mouth open, using the sounds “mi”, “me”, “ma”, “mo”, “mu” in turn, and having reached the maximum heights, gradually return to the initial tone . The next step in this exercise is to reproduce the sequence of sounds “ma-me-mi-mo-mu” in one breath, without changing the pitch, after which the order of the vowels changes and the part is played in the sequence “mi-me-ma-mo-mu”. Vocal axiom. With proper singing, all sounds are sent to the same place, and the location of the speech organs during singing is somewhat reminiscent of a situation when there is hot potato in the mouth.
SINGING SECOND: PLAYING ON THE LIPS The second exercise, which is practiced for the masters to sing the bel canto virtuoso singing technique, is very useful for developing singing breath and achieving the necessary direction of sound. It also helps to ensure that breathing is correct, the criterion for evaluating which is the continuity of the sound of the voice. The articulation used in this case resembles how a small child mimics the sound of a car. Sound is extracted through the mouth with closed but relaxed lips. In this exercise, the sounds are sung in a major triad, rising up and returning to the initial tone.
SINGLE THIRD AND FOUR: GLISSANDO The third exercise is the same as the second, only the vocal part is played with the glissando technique (gliding), that is, when playing, not three separate notes are played, but one that smoothly rises to the upper tone, and then, not interrupting, returns to the starting position. The fourth exercise, also performed with glissando, is best to start with the notes “e” or “re” of the second octave. Its essence is to sing in the nose, preventing air from escaping from the throat. In this case, the mouth should be open, but the sound is still sent to the nose. Each phrase includes three sounds that, starting from the top, only drop a tone apart.
